Subjects

Fourteen fellow classmates of the Affective Computing Seminar volunteered to participate in our study. Along with other random student volunteers working at the MIT Media lab over the weekend, all subjects willingly took part in the experiment. They were all students at MIT and ranged from 20-40 years in age. Only the last three, two women and one man, produced sentic signals that could be analyzed due to the failure of the experimenter to record a timing marker. Of the fourteen subjects, three trials had to be eliminated because of software failure, and one experiment was interrupted.
