Photobook is an image database browsing tool supporting
query-by-content.

The current distribution does not contain any face recognition data or
algorithms. For info on face recognition, see

The current distribution contains the data and interface for the
power-assisted annotation tool, described in TR 302. It also has a
sample database of color fabrics, which can be browsed using texture
features.

ph-5.0.tar contains the basic files (no executables), and documentation.
ph-5.0-src.tar contains the source tree.  It compiles under UNIX only.

ph-5.0-hpux9.tar contains binaries for the HP700 series running HPUX9, 
and should be untarred in the photobook-5.0/bin directory.
ph-5.0-ds.tar contains DECstation binaries.
ph-5.0-sun4.tar contains Sun 4 binaries.
ph-5.0-iris.tar contains SGI binaries.
ph-5.0-linux.tar contains i386-linux binaries.

<X>.tar is image database <X>, which should be untarred in the photobook-5.0
directory created by ph-5.0.tar. Databases are machine independent, and
include instructions for use.

fabric is a database of color fabric swatches which can be browsed using 
texture.

pieces is a database of sliced up vacation photos which can be labeled using
power-assisted annotation.

VisTex is contains the Photobook data files for the images in pub/VisTex.
